Re: Post a picture of your pet!
Huey passed away at some point today. He was sleeping, cuddeld up with Jake when we noticed.
He can now play with his son again.

This is a puppy in a flower pot. You're welcome.

(Her name is Coco, she half poodle half Chinese crested, she's four months old, and she's the squee-est! She's technically my dad's puppy, but my kids and I puppy-sit her a lot, and she will be staying with us three months out of the year.)

I'm sorry to hear that, Ian.
Mulpis, can we all puppy-sit your dad's dog? I volunteer to be first.

You're allowed to mail dogs to people, right? Right?

Very sad. At least it was peaceful.

How does one cat manage to look so evocative in every photo?

Adopted 14 years ago today.

Hm. After some googling, I've found that the anniversary of the day human children are adopted is referred to, "in adoption circles," as "Gotcha Day." According to Wikipedia, it is also referred to as "Homecoming Day," "Family Day," or "Adoption Day," all of which seem like less potentially problematic terms terms. Various animals rights organizations, rescues, and pet enthusiasts on the internet use "Gotcha Day" to denote the anniversary of adopting a pet. However, Google Trends suggests that the phrase "Adoption Day" is used in "News headlines" more frequently.
I'm more unsure now than when I started my research. Can we agree to go with adoptaversary? If so, happy adoptaversary, Null and Leela!

Happy American Thanksgiving, Americans. Here are today's cutest guests, the three opportunistic puppy cousins (Alby, Jasper and Coco) patiently waiting for spills. They were not disappointed. My five year old niece tried to pour the gravy herself, and while it didn't go so well for her, it worked out great for the pups.

I appreciate these pictures so much. All the other pet pictures, too, but these in particular.

Our little Lana passed away on Tuesday. She was still young. She never really grew much, she was a runt. But she had a big heart, and loved to play.
Her sister is doing okay. Sh is getting any with the other 4, bit by bit.
