I'm not saying women can't use logic. I'm saying that they don't.

Today when I was walking home someone I don't know waved at me. I waved back, and he gave me a thumbs up. He was scowling, but didn't look angry or sad or anything.

You've made a new friend, Clueless!

Theoretically, if someone were to try a harmless but illegal substance for the first time, would it be better to smoke it or bake it into brownies? Theoretically.

I want people to wave at me and give me thumbs up but also be scowling. That sounds confusing.

Its not harmless. Why else would this theoretical substance be illegal?

Seriously, I do not recommend ingestion for the first time. Theoretically. I'm not endorsing or non-endorsing and am free of any liability.

Sorry to hear that Ian....Have a good visit no matter what.

Well, I've never tried it myself, so take this with a grain of salt...
Just thinking from a physiologic perspective, the inhalation of any type of substance would have a much quicker absorption into the bloodstream, thereby allowing you to stop your intake when you thought you might be at your limit. Whereas, ingestion would be a much slower method, so you would have to try and puke up something you ingested if you felt you'd gone too far. And it might have already gone past your stomach by that time, so you couldn't even get that part out of your system. So unless you're into colonic irrigation....

I ain't never devoured any such substance in the form of a brownie, but smoking it is okay. Well, smoking itself is no great pleasure to me, but the substance to which we are (presumably) slyly referring is pleasant enough when smoked.

Actually, it ain't a sensation I especially care for. It's alright. I'm content to be involved if it is being passed around, but I would not be bothered to seek its company.

Oh and Ian, it's a great shame to hear. I do hope it turns out alright,

Oh, that's terrible. Try to make the most of what time you have. Sorry, that's pretty bland advice, but I don't really have much else to offer. I guess I'd say make sure you say everything you feel like you need to. There's stuff I should say to my dad, and sometimes I worry that I never will.

I don't know, good luck.

Thanks for the theoretical advice, everyone. It is duly noted.

So sorry to hear about your mom, Ian. My mom has been struggling with a potentially life-threatening disease for the past few years, but I don't really feel qualified to offer any advice, just my sympathies. I hope that you can both say everything that needs to be said.

Also, if there's anyone around who's likely to be all "Oh hey brownies *yoink, nom*", then smoking at least keeps them from unintended ingestion.

my sympathies ian. i hope you are able to make your peace with her.

also, jvcc, if your brownies are not made properly they can end up being just brownies. and the feeling of good brownies is more intense than that of smoking, imho. still, if this is the theoretical first time ever, smoking may have zero effect at all and you may have to try again the next day to actually get results. YMMV....

Sad news Ian, I sincerely wish you the best.

You should definitely smoke it instead of eating it; Loofah gives a great reason why. Also, the high from brownies is different than from smoking, I never liked it.

I'd be interested in hearing if this theoretically goes down.

As for the hypothetical, I vote for smoke too.

She passed away today. I managed to see her before it happened, but I was out of the room when she finally passed. Dad was holding her hands at the end.

It was peaceful, which is all I could have hoped for .
