Re: BLURT thread
You know how that movie Precious is actually Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire? Well, I saw a bookstore display today and discovered that newer copies of the book also say Precious: Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire on the cover, despite, you know, actually being the novel Push by Sapphire. I would have gone with something like Push: The Novel by Sapphire Which Precious Was Based On.

Re: BLURT thread
Well yesterday morning was The Tour of Dallas, a bicycle ride through downtown Dallas and near-downtown to White Rock Lake and back. Although a bit on the cool side it was otherwise a magnificent morning. Had a FANTASTIC time, despite the fact I was out riding with about five thousand other cyclists!
Unfortunately I'm still working on getting back in shape so I spent the rest of the day all tired and achy. Fell asleep EARLY, work up EARLY with a pounding headache and absolutely starving. Drove to IHOP and had a hugemongous breakfast with a big old glass of OJ came back home ... and slept another three hours!
Feel pretty fantastic now though. Woooo!

Re: BLURT thread
I am indeed alive. Just sleep deprived and bitchy. Things just flew off the cupboard and the refrigeratior and landed on a puddle in the middle of the kitchen. An airconditioning system fell off the wall, and the backyard wall collapsed. Other than that we're fine. My neighborhood doesn't seem to have taken much damage. But I've seen some pictures indicating that other parts of the city are in bad condition.
I hope the quakes stop. I really need some sleep.
Good luck on your interview, Ian.

Oh ok. Well that's not so bad, except the puddle can't be good.

Re: BLURT thread
I can only see reason for flat-eyed nose-face if the reason for the friend/acquaintance metamorphosis is something to do with the fact of getting married. I can dig that; if a certain friend-turned-acquaintance of mine were to get married I'd probably be pretty flat-eyed nose-faced about it. Well, depending who she was getting married to. If it was that one fellow who caused all this trouble (well, the last part of it anyway), it would be flat-eyed nose-faces from here to Zanzibar.
Re: BLURT thread
I just checked the distance from here to Zanzibar and I don't think I would be able to make good on that claim. Sorry everyone.

I love this post so much I'm going to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant!
