I watched a MST3K recently where Santa was trying to deliver presents on Christmas Eve but Satan kept trying to thwart him with impish pranks. By impish I of course mean whispering to an impoverished girl that she steal a doll or trying to convince three boys to kidnap Santa.

You've just seen...the Mexican Santa Claus.
In many respects, an awesome movie. Check Jabootu.net for the full review.

Well, not everyone has received their gifts, so it stays until that happens.

Also, yes it should, for the poor folks who have yet to receive their stuff.

The cookies are all moldy and the milk is a solid hunk of nasty cheese. The empty stocking has a layer of dust on it. I think... I think it might be time to take it down. It's possible that would reduce the probability of Santa's arrival from meager to minuscule, but at least we wouldn't have to look at the depressing thing every day.

So, how many people who were enthusiastic about this have failed to follow through? Ten? Five?
Unless you're planning on giving someone a baby for a present, it shouldn't take months and months. Take a weekend and put something together, mail it Monday morning. Or just put a crisp bit of appropriate paper money in an envelope and mail that.

Re: Secret Santa 2009!
As far as I am aware, two people didn't get theirs.
I'm not really concerned about me, but the other person (who was the first to get theirs done and out) has not gotten anything that we know of, and that's just poopie.

Actually, I'm more concerned about you, because you put a lot of effort into making the whole exchange happen. And that's pretty poopie too.Skimba wrote:As far as I am aware, two people didn't get theirs.

Re: Secret Santa 2009!
If nothing else, get a sheet of construction paper, cut and fold it to the shape of a xmas card, then draw stuff on it. I can't speak for anyone else, of course, but I'd be satisfied with that.
Re: Secret Santa 2009!
Some of us just aren't going to get gifts.
May as well un-sticky it and chalk it up to experience.

If Skimba is getting some great crap from dusky, one of the remaining giftless persons can give their info to me if they want, and I can be their... Not Terribly Secret Captain Planet? See, because Good Friday aside, the next holiday this month is Earth Day.
