Re: Unintentionally Pretentious webcomic

I never noticed that this comic has its own TV Tropes page.

Re: THE HAPPY THREAD

I missed out on a job which, if I'm being entirely honest, I felt was a bit beyond me at this stage. However, as a result of it, I'm going to be lecturing next semester. That's a bit daunting, but it's equally exciting. Aw yiss. What a great opportunity! Do you have any teaching or tutoring experie...

Re: Cultural Differences

Hello American posters! I hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. There is a bit of a strange phenomenon currently taking place in Britain, as some of our retailers are also taking part in Black Friday. This is a little odd. Black Friday makes sense in America. It's not exactly my bag, exactly - I s...

Re: Unintentionally Pretentious webcomic

Was this comic inspired by the recent upsurge in reality tv shows that take various scenarios and require that the participants not wear any clothing? Naked Dating and [/i]Naked and Afraid[/i] spring to mind. I've only seen the latter (not by choice), and it involves two naked "survivalists&qu...

Re: Television

I can't find it online, but that does sound cool. What did you enjoy about it, other than recognizing local figures and landmarks? On an unrelated note, I have a question about An Idiot Abroad . When the show's premise was explained to me, before I had ever seen an episode, I assumed that the Karl ...

Re: Television

There's a guy at my university who's a bit of an institution. Everyone knows him or knows of him and he's been around since the sixties, despite not being officially affiliated with the university in any way. There are loads of stories about the various things he's done in his life and you never rea...

Re: Video Game Stuff

Let's see. Oh, there's a wiki, and it has a list of towns and cities . Now we're cooking. The full name of "Elektro" appears to be "Elektrozavodsk", so I don't blame you for stopping at the "o". Especially since no other location appears to start with it. You can call ...

It's still in pre-alpha so it's not exactly polished. I wouldn't recommend playing it unless you've got somebody to play it with alongside you. It's a fun adventure when you're both stranded miles apart from each other.

Re: Video Game Stuff

Surprisingly, it isn't really. It's just very intense and you really do get into survival mode. I have had one infuriating game that I forgot to document. Let's call it subject #6a. Subject #6a I spawned in a barn. I climbed up a staircase into the rafters and found a hat, which was nice. I then wal...

Re: Video Game Stuff

I picked up DayZ in the Steam sale and have enjoyed it to date. I've mostly been playing it with somebody else, who convinced me to buy it. The basic premise of the game is that you are dumped in a ridiculously large map ( for scale , it has an area of 225 square km) that represents some part of Rus...

Re: BLURT thread

Anyone know a good taxi service in London or how much standard cab fare is there? I'm going to spend most of my adventures abroad aboard cheaper transport vehicles, but my flight to London gets in late and I don't entirely like the idea of navigating the tubes and buses of an unfamiliar city alone ...

I have one of those QI books of facts and found out that in some survey of some dating site, it was found that the biggest concern for most women on dating sites was meeting a serial killer, while the biggest concern for most men was meeting a fat woman.

So, if anyone is still keeping tabs on this, the latest plot arc just finished (after four years) and the new one started a few weeks ago, with an all new art style.
